AYCF warns that group would not allow old or sick persons recycled back as President.
AYCF, The Arewa Youth’s Consultative Forum, issued a warning on Friday, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
National President of AYCF, Yerima Shettima, warned that the group would not allow old, weak and Sick Nigerians to be recycled as Presidents.
In a statement he signed and released to the Public, Shettima said Democracy doesn’t encourage weak, tired, overly unproductive and politically compromised persons as Leaders.
Shettima says, “Going Forward, the AYCF will never allow the recycling of old, weak and sick citizens as leaders of this nation, more-so, in a fast-changing and competitive world.
“Much as democracy gives everyone the right to contest for any elective office, it does not encourage the emergence of tired, weak, politically compromised, sick and overly unproductive persons as leaders of this modern society”.
This comment is coming from Shettima at a time when chances are high that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar may contest for Presidency in 2023.
Atiku, who lost the 2019 Presidential elections to President Muhammadu Buhari, has been hinting towards partaking in the next Presidential Election as a Candidate.
Similarly, Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, seems to be speculating the same ambition in 2023, Of taking Part in the .
However, both Tinubu and Atiku are yet to declare their intention, despite the speculations.
