A tanker laden with diesel has gone up in flames after it exploded at the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) camp corridor of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The inferno, which sent plumes of thick smoke and flame billowing into the sky, threw motorists, passersby and residents of the area into panic even as it triggered heavy traffic gridlock on both lanes of the dual carriage highway on Thursday, it was noted that two persons were seen escaping from the raging inferno.

It was further gathered that operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) had arrived at the scene for the rescue of victims and traffic control.
